Numerical Analysis is a branch of applied mathematics which deals with the study of algorithms for the approximate solution of applications that are typically time-consuming, costly or difficult to compute analytically. This pdf has material on following topics: Advances in Numerical Methods and Computational Methods, Direct and Inverse Methods for Nonlinear Equations (Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions), Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), Boundary Value Problems in Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) Partial Differentiation and the Gradient, Basic Integral Theorems for Improper Integrals, Variational Formulations of Selected Problems in Elementary Geometry. Basic concepts of linear algebra, vector calculus, multivariable calculus, differential equations are discussed under different topics. It is assumed that the reader has basic knowledge in these subjects. The presentation is mainly based on text, illustrations and problems. The given problems are solved by the readers themselves. Some of the exercises are project based. Some of them are based on real-world examples which have been taken from nature or have been developed by the author herself. Almost every chapter has at least one or two examples to understand better its concepts. The book is divided into six parts. Parts I, II and III are also available free on the internet. This book is programmed with Mathematica, an algebraic tool for computations that can be used with any computer or tablet. The reader of this book must have the Mathematica Supplemental Package (free download) installed to use it properly. The use of Mathematica is always indicated to the reader. The author has data file and programs available on the internet for all the problems presented in this book. Some of them could be downloaded freely while others will be available for a minimal fee. The author has conducted a postgraduate seminar on numerical analysis and applied mathematics for the students of mathematics and computer sciences in many universities. She has given lectures and seminars at different conferences and delivered lectures at the universities of Ghent (Belgium), Florence (Italy), Aurillac (France), Bari (Italy), Genova (Italy) etc. Md. Faruque Ahmad, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh: "This book should be recommended to teachers, researchers and students in mathematics, statistics, engineering and others. This book is not written for any special purpose but the author wants to present an overall picture of Numerical Analysis. cfa1e77820
